Dr. David Riley was our scheduled speaker for the February 2008 Dinner Meeting but was, unfortunately, the victim of an ice storm and has agreed to share his LEED presentation with us this September Dr. David Riley is an associate professor of Architectural Engineering at Penn State. His areas of expertise lie in construction management and high performance green building design and construction. Riley has a long standing relationship with NECA and Electi International, and recently completed research in the topics of green building markets and research implementation. He is currently helping NECA and EI to develop a strategy to embrace the emerging markets in solar energy and distributed energy generation, and energy efficiency. In addition to the obvious environmental benefits of these efforts, new jobs will likely result in the industry. At Penn State, Riley leads efforts to engage students in the pursuit of environmental sustainability through hands on projects and leadership development programs like the Solar Decathlon and the American Indian Housing Initiative. |
