Topic:

Medium Voltage Cable and Acessories

Description: Provide an overview of the current Medium Voltage cable constructions, insulation types, shield and or neutral types (MV / URD ), overall jacket materials and of course, conductor materials . Provide a comprehensive review of the latest industry standards (IEEE, AEIC etc ) and designations. Temperature ratings (MV 105...) and associated application. As time allows: Provide a basic overview on medium voltage cable accessories for terminating, splicing, sectionalizing ,  and protection of cable systems.

Speaker:  Tara Parker – Applications Engineer, Prysmian Group

Tara has two years of experience in the cable industry, and more than 10 years of experience in the electrical industry. She is a 2015 graduate of Southern Illinois University. Prior to college, she served nine years in the United States Navy as an Electrician’s Mate, maintaining the electrical systems associated with one of two nuclear propulsion plants onboard the USS George H. W. Bush, CVN-77.
