Description: |
IEEE Building Power System Design This Course is intended for Electrical Designers, recent graduate Electrical Engineers, and Electrical Contractors desiring a deeper understanding of the electrical design process. The course will take the student from a “blank sheet of paper” through the electrical design of a typical building in the 20,000 to 200,000 square foot range. The course will explain sizing of service entrance equipment, distribution equipment, branch circuits and panelboards. Topics such as voltage selection, grounding, short circuit calculations, coordination studies, power quality, transient voltage surge suppression, motor protection, and single line diagrams will be explained. Homework problems will be assigned. Guest instructors will teach topics for which they have a particular expertise. |
